Sheryl Grant Thompson, MA, LPC
Sheryl is a somatic psychotherapist, focusing on the mind/body/spirit connection. She is committed to living authentically and assisting her clients in uncovering their true essence, while seeking to find the ease that underlies transformation.
She has worked with diverse populations, from abused and neglected children to the elderly. She brings a wide range of knowledge and training to her work, including the Enneagram, Death & Dying, the Relational Cultural Model, trauma resolution, emotional release, addictions, eating disorders, energy work, and women’s studies. She is trained in Hakomi, which is a body-centered psychotherapy, based on the Buddhist and Taoist principles of mindfulness, nonviolence, and the unity of mind and body.
Sheryl enjoys working individuals and couples, but has a particular interest in working with women & adolescent girls. She treats eating disorders, relationship concerns, depression and anxiety, women’s issues, body image difficulties, parenting, postpartum depression, trauma and PTSD, personality disorder, and sexual and physical abuse.
The type of therapy that Sheryl does is deeply collaborative. She believes that the most important component of successful therapy is feeling safe and connected with your therapist. Together, client and therapist embark on a journey of discovery, bringing into balance the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of life.
